Aratori (3f Caravaggio – Kitty Matcham, by Rock Of Gibraltar) built on a promising debut to justify favouritism in Wednesday’s six furlong maiden at the Curragh.
Trained by Eddie and Patrick Harty, the Barronstown-bred grey was narrowly denied at the track last month and was reunited with Chris Hayes on her second start. Racing prominently throughout, she led approaching the three furlong marker and was shaken up approaching the final furlong. Running on well, she led by two lengths on the line.
The daughter of Caravaggio was bred by Barronstown Stud out of homebred Group 2 winner Kitty Matcham. She herself is out of Barronstown’s dual Group 1 heroine Imagine, who produced six Group performers, led by Horatio Nelson.
