A drop back in trip at Redcar on Tuesday saw Al Tarmaah (3c Muhaarar – How’s She Cuttin’, by Shinko Forest) get off the mark on the third time of asking for William Haggas and Hamdan Al Maktoum.

Racing towards the back of the field in the early stages of the six furlong sprint, the bay was pushed to make headway approaching the two furlong pole. Chasing down the leaders, he led inside the final furlong and kept on to score by a length and three quarters.

Bred by Barronstown Stud, the half-brother to five-time Stakes winner Washington DC was bought by Shadwell Estate for 350,000gns at the Tattersalls Book 1 Sale.
