Loyal Touch (2c No Nay Never – Devoted To You, by Danehill Dancer) made all to run out an impressive winner of Friday’s Novice Stakes at Carlisle.
Charlie and Mark Johnston’s charge finished a close third on debut and went on to chase home fellow Barronstown-bred The Foxes in a Goodwood maiden last month. Well-supported when stepping up to a mile, the bay was pushed along from two furlongs out and boasted a clear advantage a furlong later. Franny Norton steered the colt to a comfortable win by four and a half lengths.
Owned by Jaber Abdullah, Loyal Touch holds entries in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes and Group 1 Futurity Trophy. The Barronstown-bred son of Churcill is closely related to Irish Derby victor Sovereign and Group 3 second Dawn Rising.
