Lancaster House (3c Galileo – Quiet Oasis, by Oasis Dream) extended his unbeaten record to three when making a successful step up in class in the Listed Listowel Stakes.
Despite being drawn widest of all, he wasent off favourite for the nine furlong contest and was ridden to chase the leaders by Donnacha O’Brien. Travelling well in second approaching the two furlong pole, he led entering the final furlong and ran on to score by two lengths and three quarters with ease.
Donnacha O’Brien was later full of praise for the winner, commenting, “Lancaster House gave me a very good feel today. He travelled away very easily and put it to bed very easily. I think he’s a smart horse.”
Trained by Aidan O’Brien for Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and Mrs John Magnier, Lancaster House is the first foal out of dual Graded winner and Grade 1 performer Quiet Oasis. Barronstown Stud offer a full-sister to Lancaster House at next month’s Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale.
