Shadn (2f No Nay Never – Amethyst, by Sadler’s Wells) became the latest winner bred by Barronstown Stud when impressing on debut at Kempton.
One of 12 to line up for the Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over six furlongs, she raced in midfield under Oisin Murphy and was travelling well at the two furlong marker. Sent to challenge soon after, she quickened up the inside and led entering the final furlong, racing clear to score by three and a quarter lengths.
Trained by Andrew Balding for Alrabban Racing, the daughter of No Nay Never is out of the Listed-winning mare Amethyst, who finished second in the Irish 1,000 Guineas.
