The Barronstown Stud-bred Flag Of Honour (2c Galileo – Hawala, by Warning) confirmed the promise of his maiden win when taking the Group 3 Eyrefield Stakes at Leopardstown.
Impressive when winning his maiden by four and a half lengths earlier in the month, he encountered trouble in running at Newmarket on his next start and stepped up to nine furlongs at Leopardstown. Sent off favourite under Padraig Beggy, he tracked the leaders until disputing three furlongs from home and led after the two furlong marker. Staying on well, he scored by a length and a half.
Trained by Aidan O’Brien for Coolmore partners, the son of Galileo is a half-brother to Irish 2,000 Guineas runner-up Foxtrot Romeo and Group 1 juvenile Air Chief Marshall.
