| Horatio Nelson was bred to
be a star and he didn't disappoint. After winning
his maiden and a stakes race at the Curragh, he
led all the way to win the Superlative Stakes Gr.
2 at Newmarket. Next he claiimed the Prix Jean Luc Lagaderre Gr. 1 at Longchamp.
A fortnight later in the Dewhurst Stakes Gr. 1 he had desperately bad luck in running and only just failed to peg back the future Derby winner Sir Percy by a short head. He looked
set to join the rank of legends as a 3 year old
only to meet with tragedy in the Epsom Derby. |
