Leader Of Men (3g War Front – Refugee, by Unaccounted For) gained his fourth straight win when taking the Super Derby Prelude at Louisiana Downs.

The Jodie Hodges-trained bay was stepping up to Stakes level for the first time and provided owners Kevin and Amy Wampole with their first black-type success. The competitive three-year-old contest was run over eight and a half furlongs and earned the winner a berth to the Grade 3 Super Derby worth $300,000.

Bred by Barronstown Stud, Leader Of Men is a half-brother to dual Grade 1 winners Hoppertunity and Executiveprivilege. Their Grade 2 placed dam Refugee has now produced four black-type horses and is herself a grand-daughter of champion three-year-old filly Davona Dale.
